About Solano County
Solano County is located in the Bay-Delta region of California, about halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento and is one of the nine San Francisco Bay Area counties. The county seat is Fairfield and the largest city is Vallejo. Solano County was one of the original counties of California, created in 1850 at the time of statehood. Prior to statehood, it had been referred to as (interesting note) Benicia County. Solano County's central location allows an easy drive to Lake Tahoe or to San Francisco for family fun or an interesting night life. You can see a Professional Baseball, Basketball or Football game and still be home in time for dinner. With lots of Parks, Museums and activities, you can't go wrong when you Discover Solano County.
